EN 1047-1 Fire Safes for Paper

The EN 1047-1 fire resistance test involves heating the safe or cabinet in a furnace where temperatures climb higher than 1000° C. For the duration of the test, safes rated for paper must maintain an internal temperature below 170° C. Certain safes may also be subjected to a fire/drop test, where the safe is subjected to rapid heating and a drop from 9.1 metres to simulate a floor or building collapse.
